Description
The Lutiely Monument is a mid-18th century table-tomb located in the churchyard, 3 metres south of the chancel of the Church of SS. Peter and Paul in Cattistock. It is made of stone and features two fielded panels on each side, a moulded cornice, and a hipped top block. The main inscription reads, "Sacred to the memory of Richard Lutiely, who departed this life January the 21 1738, aged 56 years." There is a further inscription on the right-hand panel and a later inscription on the east end commemorating Richard Wightman, who died on December 21, 1836.
