Description
The Coach House is a Grade II listed building located on Sutton Road in Weymouth. It dates from the early 19th century and was originally a coach house for the former vicarage at No. 7. The structure is built from squared and coursed rubble with ashlar dressings and has a slate roof. It has a rectangular shape with a gable facing the street and features a hipped low-pitched roof.
The main facade, which faces south across a small courtyard, is two storeys high and has four windows. These are small six-pane sash windows set in flush stone surrounds, with the window above the entrance doorway being larger than the others. On the ground floor, there is a square opening with wide plank doors, followed by a wide arched opening that has flush voussoirs and a projecting keystone, set within deep plain reveals. To the right of a six-pane window, there is a broad opening with a segmental head and plain rebated reveals.
The gable facing the road features a paired sash window with a stone mullion on the first floor, along with a plank door to the right. At the center of the ridge, there is a small leaded cupola on a low square base, and a stack is located at the rear eaves. The interior has not been inspected.
