Description
Riverside House is a detached house dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century. It has a painted stone block or rendered exterior and a slate roof. The building is a long, single-depth cottage that rises from the Jordan River on its west side to an entrance front at a higher level on the east. The front features two storeys with 12-pane sash windows in flush boxes and a central 19th-century door topped by an arched fanlight. The left gable end is plain and has a rendered stack, while a small brick ridge stack is located towards the right end. At the far end of the house, there is a small detached two-storey 'pavilion' with a pyramid slate roof, 12-pane sashes, and a plank door. The river front has two storeys above a high basement floor, with three bays, some of which contain original 12-pane sashes. There is also a further bay at a slight angle to the left, which has a small light on each floor. The interior has not been inspected.
