Description
The listed building comprises two semi-detached cottages, dated 1843. The cottages are constructed of dressed limestone and have thatched roofs with gable ends, featuring two thatch outshuts at the rear and stone stacks at the gable ends. They are of 1½ storeys with a total of four windows, displaying regular fenestration and 2-light wood casements with glazing bars and wood cills. Ashlar stone voussoirs are visible on the ground floor, with eyebrow dormers positioned above. Front doors are situated on gable ends. Number 2 features a 20th-century stone porch with a gabled clay tile roof. Internally, each dwelling contains a living kitchen, a small pantry, and a staircase, with a partitioned-off area at the back, plus a projecting outhouse. The cottages are part of a group all built by John T.Trenchard.
