Description

Nos. 5 and 6 are a pair of semi-detached cottages, originally built as a school in 1843. They feature dressed limestone walls and a thatched roof with gable ends, including a central gabled projection at the front. Stone stacks with cornices are located at the gable ends. The cottages are 1½ storeys high and have four windows; the outer ground floor windows consist of three lights, while the remaining windows have two lights. The windows are wood casements with glazing bars, and the ground floor windows have ashlar stone voussoirs. Eyebrow dormers are present above the outer windows, and there are two two-light casements in the central gable.

The entrance to No. 5 is located to the right of the center and features a wood door with an upper half glazed panel, dating from the 20th century. No. 6 has a single-storey wing at the rear with a rendered stack on the gable end and includes two and three-light casements. The doorway on the side wall has two leaf glazed doors, also from the 20th century. A projecting thatch porch canopy is supported by wooden posts.
