Description

Fernlea Cottage is a cottage likely dating from the late 17th or early 18th century, with alterations made in the 19th century. It is constructed of rubble with a facade of English garden wall bond brickwork. The roof is thatched, with brick stacks at the ends. The cottage is one and a half storeys high and has a three-window front. The ground floor windows have segmental brick arches and are casements with glazing bars; the upper floor windows are casements with leaded lights. A central part-glazed door provides access. To the right of the cottage is a 19th-century single-storey haystore and outbuilding range. The adjacent cottage to the west is not included in the listing.
