Description

This listing describes two sets of gate piers with attached walls and a mounting block, located in Mapperton and dating from the 18th century. The gate piers are made of rusticated stone and feature moulded cornices and ball finials. The mounting block, which has four steps on each side, is situated on the south side of the north-west stretch of the wall and is also constructed of stone from the 18th century. The gate piers and wall are positioned between the front courtyard wall and the gable ends of the stable blocks.
