Description

Longthornes Lodge is a lodge located at the entrance to the drive leading to Longthornes, built around 1850. It features brick walls in Flemish bond with burnt headers and a hipped slate roof that has deeply overhanging eaves, creating a verandah supported by octagonal timber posts. The lodge is single-storey and has one brick chimney stack as well as one ornamental terra-cotta stack. The elevation facing the drive includes a projecting semi-octagonal bay on the right end, which has sash windows with glazing bars on each face. To the left of the bay, there are two similar sash windows. A flush panel door is located in the wall facing the road. This lodge is a good picturesque example of its type.
