Country house. c1850. Plastered walls with raised vermiculated quoins. Tiled roof with bargeboards to gables, slate eaves course and simple moulded cornice. Plastered stacks on ridge with ornamental clay pots - some of these missing. H-shaped plan. In Georgian style, 2 storeys. On entrance front a later flat-roofed single-storey extension to the central section - projecting wings each end. On ground floor, - in extension - a ledged oak door in 4-centred arched frame, with fanlight. 4 sashes with centre glazing bar. First floor has 3 sashes with glazing bars and moulded surrounds. Left gable has one similar sash on ground floor. Left gable has on ground floor, 2 sashes with glazing bars and a rectangular bay window with similar sashes. Other elevations have sashes with glazing bars in moulded surrounds on both floors. Some crown glass in windows. Cut string stair with shaped spandrils and wreathed handrail. Late example of Georgian style. RCHM unnumbered. (Dorset. Vol.III, page 178)
