Description
Lawrence End is a medium-sized country house completed around 1841 in a late Georgian style. It features chequered red brick with banded brick piers extending from the ground to the eaves at the corners. The house has a slate hipped roof and a symmetrical arrangement of 2:3:2 camber-headed sash windows, with the ground floor windows adorned with stucco key blocks. The building consists of two storeys above a cellar and has a floor band. The eaves are moulded, with the centre slightly projecting and supported by modillions.
A stucco Tuscan porch with paired columns and pilasters leads up three steps to a half-glazed door topped by a tall segmental-headed fanlight. The south elevation features a canted window bay, while the rear elevation has five windows, with the right side windows being dummy. The outer windows are triple-hung sashes, and there is a central Diocletian window on the first floor. Inside, there is an 18th-century-style dogleg staircase. A service range adjoins the north side, forming an L shape, and includes six glazing bar casements with a higher two-window centre and hipped dormers at the eaves.
