Description

39A and 39B on High East Street are mid to late 18th century buildings. They have a rendered exterior and a pitched pantile roof with a brick stack. The buildings are two storeys high and feature a parapet. On the first floor, there are two 19th century casement windows. The shopfronts, also from the 19th century, project forward and are topped with a parapet that has attractive cast iron railings. These buildings, along with Nos 35 to 43 and the arch between Nos 40 and 41, as well as the British Legion Headquarters, form a cohesive group.
