Description

The arch between Nos 40 and 41 on High East Street is a 19th-century structure made of Portland stone. It features a four-centred arch with a keystone and has a parapet adorned with a moulded stone cornice, which is inscribed with "Pale Ale Brewery" in sans-serif lettering. This arch, along with Nos 35 to 43 (consecutive), Nos 39A and 39B, and the British Legion Headquarters, forms a cohesive group of buildings.
