Description

41 High East Street is a mid-19th century building constructed from Portland hammer-dressed stone. It stands two storeys tall and features a moulded eaves cornice. On the first floor, there are two sash windows with keystones above them. The building has a notable 19th-century wooden public house front, which includes flanking pilasters that support an entablature, double doors with a fanlight, and a window with arched glazing bars. This property is part of a group that includes Nos 35 to 43 (consecutive), Nos 39A and 39B, the arch between Nos 40 and 41, and the British Legion Headquarters.
