Description
Newport Cottage is a detached cottage with origins dating back to the 17th century, which was altered in the late 18th century. It features plastered walls and a thatched roof that is hipped at the west end, along with a brick stack at the east gable. The cottage is one storey with an attic. The entrance has a ledged door beneath a slate pentice, while the ground floor includes two casement windows. In the attic, there are two dormers that have Gothic style casements and lead lights. At the rear, there is a lower brick wing with a tiled roof. Inside, the cottage boasts a large open fireplace, which is partially built up, and some exposed ceiling beams, contributing to its picturesque character.
