Description
Old Sandford House is a detached former farmhouse, now a private house, dating from the mid-19th century. It features rubble-stone walls and slate roofs, which are gabled and hipped at the east end, with boxed eaves. The building has two storeys and four windows facing the street, which are three-light wood casements with glazing bars and wood cills. There is a plank and shuttered window on the right side at ground level, with segmental stone voussoirs above. The front door is positioned at an angle to the street; it is a flush-panel door with two top lights, also from the 19th century, and is sheltered by a pentice slate canopy supported by two wood posts. The east elevation also features three-light casements.
