Description
The stables and coach house at The Court, located 30 meters west-south-west of The Court and including Courtyard Cottage, likely date from the mid-18th century. The building features brick walls with projecting brick quoins and a patent tile roof, complete with a brick cornice and brick stacks along the ridge. It is two storeys high and positioned at right angles to the road.
The gable end facing the road has a blank arched opening on the ground floor, flanked by two blocked windows. The first floor contains two casement windows with glazing bars. In the attic gable, there is a series of pigeon holes with projecting ledges. Each of the two long sides has a recessed center section with arched openings, some of which are blocked, showcasing projecting brick voussoirs. On the west wall, there is an external timber stair leading to the first floor.
At the south end, there is a later 19th-century cottage built in matching construction, with its end wall made of rubble stone.
