Description

The Manor House, now comprising three attached cottages, has a core dating back to the 16th century, with significant re-facing in the 18th and 19th centuries. The building is constructed of stone walls, rendered and finished, with a slate roof featuring stone gable copings. Four rendered stacks rise from the ridge, and one is positioned at each gable end, one at the centre of the party wall between the cottages, and one at the centre of the right-hand cottage. The front elevation is two storeys high with six windows, all sashes with 19th-century marginal glazing. The front doors are located to the left of the centre, and are 18th century; the centre cottage's door is on the left-hand side and is also 18th century, with flush panels; the right-hand cottage has a French window.

Inside the left-hand cottage, the ground floor room features an open fireplace with moulded stone jambs and a Tudor-arch head with recessed spandrels, dating to the 16th century. Mid-chamfered ceiling beams are visible, indicating a 17th-century origin. Evidence of 16th-century roof construction remains beneath the current roof, with three trusses surviving, which contained mortices for collars although they are not integral to the current roof structure.
