Description

Nos 2 and 4 on East Street are mid-19th century buildings that stand two stories tall with an attic, featuring two bays each. They have a tiled mansard roof and a rendered front. The outer first-floor windows consist of three lights, set within reveals that have slightly segmental arches, with moulded archivolts and lugs belay cills. Only the first-floor window of No 4 retains its glazing bars. The ground floor windows have been altered. Steps lead up to the paired doorways, which share a common moulded cornice. Each doorway is adorned with moulded eared archivolts and features six flush panelled doors topped with small rectangular fanlights. Nos 2 to 8 (even) form a cohesive group.
