Description

Nos 1 and 3 on East Street are a pair of early 18th-century, two-storey buildings, each with two windows. They are finished in painted stone or stucco and feature a flat string course, as well as a moulded and coved eaves cornice. The buildings have dormer windows and doorways that are topped with moulded hoods supported by carved brackets. The doorway of No 1 faces east and has a segmental hood on enriched brackets, with wreath ornamentation in the tympanum. Nos 1 to 17 (odd) and the outbuildings behind Nos 1 and 3 are of particular interest as most of them date from the fire of 1731.
