Description
The terrace walls and steps located immediately south-east of Brownsea Castle are grade II listed structures. They form part of a raised terrace that includes the gun platform of a 16th-century blockhouse. The walls were altered around 1852. The upper terrace wall is constructed of rough ashlar stone, while the stone steps leading down to the lower terrace feature a solid balustrade and square piers with moulded caps. The lower terrace wall is made of brick, with additional stone steps that lead down to beach level. This site is a property of the National Trust and is recorded as RCHM Monument 3 in Dorset Volume II.
