Description

The Villano and National Trust Restaurant, including the boundary walls on the north and south-east, is a house with an attached single-storey range that serves as a restaurant. It was built in 1842 as the Chief Coastguard Officer's house. The main house features plastered walls and a double-pitched slate roof with battlemented parapets, along with plastered end stacks topped with ornamental caps. There are octagonal battlemented turrets at the corners. The building has two storeys, with a projecting single-storey addition at the front that includes a central part-glazed door flanked by French doors. The first floor of the main house has three sash windows, each with a central glazing bar. The single-storey restaurant range on the left has five French doors.

The boundary wall on the north is curved and made of brick, featuring battlements with stone copings. The brick boundary wall on the south-east, which adjoins the beach, has a stone coping and a series of rectangular openings that were originally gun ports. This property is managed by the National Trust.
