Description
Rolls Cottage and Kwetu are a pair of cottages built around 1910. They are rendered and whitewashed with a half-hipped, thatched roof. There are brick stacks at the ends of the ridge and between the two cottages. The design is nearly symmetrical, featuring two storeys and an eight-window range when considering both storeys. The windows include single, two, and three-light casements with glazing bars, and there are two single light windows at mezzanine level, likely providing light to staircases. Each cottage has a hipped, tiled porch with part-glazed doors in the second bay from each end. These cottages are notably convincing in their use of traditional architectural features for their period.
