Description
This is an outbuilding, possibly a former workshop, dating from the mid to late 19th century. It is constructed of rubble with a corrugated-iron roof. The building has a tall, plain gable end and is situated on the north side against rising ground. The gable facing the school features two flush-set plank doors with segmental heads. Above these doors are three vertical slits, and below them, there is an opening with a large galvanized water tank projecting from the wall.
The return front has a central plank door flanked by two-light casement windows, which have wooden lintels. The right-hand window has a drip-mould, and the jambs and lintels display slight stop-chamfers, a detail commonly found in local architecture. The outer gable includes a wide five-light casement window with a segmental head, below which are three vertical slits. The interior is not accessible, and while there is a suggestion that it may have been a dovecote, the gable slits appear more likely to have been used for ventilation.
