Description
The building is a warehouse currently occupied by Messrs W Pond, along with a wall to the east that runs along the north side of the road. This structure, originally listed as the Tithe Barn occupied by Pond and Son, dates back to the 16th century. It features a combination of hammer-dressed Purbeck stone and red brick, topped with a pitched tile roof and stone slates above the eaves. The warehouse is two storeys high.
On the west elevation, there is one hollow chamfered mullioned window with a hoodmould, which is blocked. The south elevation includes a door with a flat pointed arch, moulded jambs, and voussoirs, along with various 19th-century casements and loading doors. The wall to the east has ten chamfered openings with flat Purbeck lintels, all of which are blocked with red brick. This wall likely served as the south wall of a former eastern extension to the barn.
The warehouse and No 1 form a group with the premises belonging to St John's Motors and the outhouses associated with Messrs W Pond, which are of local interest.
