Description
No 1, including the main premises of Messrs W Pond, is an 18th-century building located on St John's Hill. It is constructed of red brick and features a pitched tile roof with red brick stacks. The building has two storeys and showcases diagonally placed bricks at the eaves. There are three ranges of casements with glazing bars. To the north, there are two single-storey extensions; one has a pitched tile roof and the other has a pitched pantile roof, both with modern openings, and one extension includes a tripartite casement.
This building, along with the warehouse occupied by Messrs W Pond, forms a group with the premises belonging to St John's Motors and the outhouse associated with Messrs W Pond, which are of local interest.
