Description
Mint House, formerly known as The Hut, is an 18th-century building located on the south side of St John's Hill. It is constructed of red brick and features a pitched tile roof with stone slates above the eaves. The building has a red brick stack and stands two storeys high with an attic. Notable architectural details include brick oversailing courses at the eaves and a canted bay window that rises through both storeys, complete with a moulded cornice, sashes, and glazing bars. The entrance door has six moulded panels and a blind semi-circular fanlight, flanked by reeded pilasters that support triglyphs and an open pediment adorned with ball dentils. There is also an additional range of sashes with glazing bars. Mint House is part of a group that includes Nos 1 and 2 Gold Court, No 13, and the Horse and Groom Public House.
