Description
The Horse and Groom Public House, formerly known as the Horse and Groom Inn, dates back to the 18th century. It features a colourwashed exterior and a half-hipped tile roof with red brick stacks. The building stands two storeys high and has brick oversailing courses at the eaves. It includes two ranges of flush-framed sash windows with glazing bars. The entrance door has six flush panels and is set in a reeded frame, topped with an unusual fanlight and a flat hood. There is an extension to the west that is one and a half storeys tall, featuring a gabled first-floor sash window with glazing bars and a segment-headed bipartite sash window on the ground floor. Additionally, there is a coach house extension that includes a planked loft door. The Horse and Groom Public House is part of a group that includes Nos 1 and 2 Gold Court, Mint House, and No 13.
