Description

This building is an early 19th-century barn located adjacent to and on the east side of another barn, forming the south side of a farmyard behind Nos 23 and 25 on Kings Road. It is constructed of red brick and features a hipped and half-hipped slate roof, with a catslide roof over an aisle on the south side and an open lean-to on the north side supported by wooden posts. There are two porches with planked double barn doors on the south side, along with a half-hipped roof projection that has planked loft doors further east. At the east end of the north side, there is a hipped roof projection with overhanging eaves, primarily built of rubble and featuring a planked door and loft door. This projection includes a polygonal pink brick section that once housed a horse-gin. The barn is part of a group of listed buildings on the east side of Kings Road, which includes Fordington House and the farm buildings in Athelstan Road.
