Description

Number 5 Southover is a detached cottage dating from the early 18th century, with the possibility of an earlier core. The building features banded flint and stone walls and has a thatched roof, which has a gable end on the left side and is hipped on the right side. There is a 20th-century brick chimney stack at the left gable. The cottage is two storeys high and has one window, which is a three-light wooden casement with wooden cills and lintels, renewed in the 20th century. The entrance is on the right side, featuring a plank door with two upper lights, also from the 20th century. A pentice slate canopy is supported by two wooden posts.
