Description
Five table tombs are located 5 to 12 meters north of the parish church in South Perrott. The tombs are made of stone and date from the 16th and 18th centuries.
The first tomb is from the early 18th century and features three panels on each side with fielded panelling framed in ovolo. The inscription is illegible, and it has a nipped top-stone. The second tomb, also from the 18th century, has two panels on each side, with its inscription also being illegible. The third tomb dates back to the 16th century and is very broken down.
The fourth tomb is from the 18th century, panelled, and carries the inscription: "Here lieth ye Body of Barnaby Hallett of Misterton, Gent who departed this life July ye 8th and was interred July 14th 1724, Aetatis suae 75 ..." The fifth tomb is also from the 18th century, featuring a main panel with side panels arranged in three tiers and a hipped top-stone. It commemorates James Ireland, who passed away on May 30th, 1714, at the age of 73 years.
