Description

The gatepiers at the entrance from Weymouth Avenue, dating from around 1900, are constructed of brick with ashlar coping and dressings. The two main piers feature stone bands, a dentilled cornice, and elaborate capitals made up of four consoles arranged diagonally to support a ball. Each pier has cartouches with "Queens Avenue" incised on them. There are linking walls to four subsidiary piers that flank the pavement, which also have moulded cornices and pagoda caps topped with ball finials.
