Description

A barn, dating from the late 16th to early 17th century, situated 30 metres east of Lower Stockbridge Farm House. The barn is timber-framed with external weatherboarding and a half-hipped tiled roof. A hipped cart porch is located on the west side, flanked by lean-to extensions; the left extension is open and supported by metal posts, while the right extension is of stone with double doors and metal casements. The barn comprises 9 bays. The roof structure is of jointed cruck construction, incorporating collar beams, curved angle braces, and a single tier of wind-bracing. At the north end, an intermediate floor is supported by stone cross-walls.
