Description
Kitt Hill House is a 2-storey building from the 18th century, featuring a six-window front with a modern pebble dash finish. It has a plaintile gabled roof with stone coping and moulded kneelers at the gable ends, and four dormers with segmental heads. The sash windows include glazing bars. The projecting porch is supported by Tuscan columns and features an entablature and blocking course, with panelled reveals and a 6-panelled door that has the top two panels cut away and glazed. To the left, a lower 2-storey wing connects Kitt Hill House with Cornhill House, featuring a slate gabled roof and stone rubble construction. Above this wing, there is one sash window with glazing bars, and below it is a modern garage entry.
The small front garden is raised above road level and has a stone dwarf wall with an ashlar wing. The late 18th to 19th-century railings have uprights with spear-shaped finials and square standards with urn finials at intervals. These railings continue around the north corner and return westward up Kitt Hill. Opposite the west end of Kitt Hill House, a high garden wall made of stone rubble extends westward up Kitt Hill.
Kitt Hill House, along with its garden walls and railings, forms a group with Cornhill House and the Digby Estate properties at 121 and 122 Acreman Street.
