Description

Shaston View is a house located on Crown Road in Marnhull, dating from the late 17th century or early 18th century, with a late 19th-century addition on the right. The building is constructed of coursed rubble and ashlar, topped with a tiled, gable-ended roof that features end brick stacks. The original range is symmetrical, consisting of two storeys and three windows. The ground floor has four-centred, square-headed, stone mullioned windows, while the upper floor has two similar three-light windows flanking a two-light window. A late 19th-century gabled porch is present, and a string course steps up over the front door. Inside, notable features include 18th-century stop-chamfered beams, 19th-century fireplaces, and a cellar with a vaulted stone roof. The building is primarily listed for its 17th and 18th-century elements rather than the 19th-century additions.
