Description
The Jacob Monument is a table-tomb located 10 metres south of the south transept of the Church of St Mary in Maiden Newton. It dates from the early 18th century and is made of stone. The monument features two recess panels on each side and has a hipped top block. It is adorned with pilasters that have carved flowers growing from vases. The inscription reads: "Here lieth the body of Mary, wife of John Jacob, who departed this life January ye 2nd, 1750, Aged 62".
