Description
The Church of St Mary is a parish church located in Maiden Newton. The tower dates from the 12th century, with the lower parts and the north and west walls of the nave also from this period. The chancel and west tower arch were rebuilt around 1400. The south transept and south aisle were added in the 15th century, and a porch was added around 1500. The church underwent restoration in the 19th century, which included the construction of a north vestry in 1886 and an organ chamber off the north vestry. The church features local rubble and flint walls, with ashlar and dressings made of Ham Hill stone. The roofs are covered with lead, tiles, and stone slates.
