Description

The Dairy House is an early 18th-century farmhouse, or possibly earlier, situated on Station Road in Maiden Newton. It is constructed of knapped flint and banded Lias stone walls, with a roughcast gable end. Quoins are visible at the right-hand end. The roof is thatched, featuring a gable and a half-hip section on the right-hand side. A brick stack rises from the ridge on the right, and there is an additional rendered stack on the right-hand end wall. The house has two storeys and four windows, each fitted with 20th-century wooden casements featuring glazing bars, wooden sills, and stone arch-voussoirs. The centre of the front façade is occupied by a plank-and-muntin door with a single square light, dating to the 20th century. The building is of group value.
