Description
The Village Shop and former Forge, attached to Beech House, dates from the mid-19th century. It features rubble-stone walls and a slate roof, with brick stacks located right of the centre ridge. The building has two storeys and an irregular arrangement of windows. On the left side of the ground floor, there is a shop window with two plank shutters. To the right, there is a three-light wooden casement window with glazing bars and a wooden cill, dating from the 20th century, as well as a two-light wooden casement window. The forge section includes a two-leaf loft door with a wooden lintel and an entrance at the rear, which has a plank door with one light and a segmental brick arch above it. There is also a plank loft door above.
