Description
Peacock Bridge is a late 18th-century bridge located over the River Frome, providing access from the east drive to Frampton House. It is constructed of stone with brick soffits in the arches and features three spans. The middle arch and the smaller flanking arches have segmental heads adorned with moulded archivolts. In the spandrels, there are circular panels made of Coade stone. The piers are designed with rounded cut-waters that are topped with reeded half-domes. The bridge has a balustraded parapet with bulbous balusters, panelled dies over the piers, and a continuous cornice at road level. The curving approach walls conclude with cylindrical moulded stone pedestals.
