Description

Nos. 75 to 81 on High Street is a terrace of four cottages, likely built in the late 18th century. The cottages feature rubble stone walls, stone slate roofs, and stone stacks along the ridge, arranged in an L-shaped plan.

No. 75 is two storeys high and has a part-glazed door set in a 20th-century glazed porch with a slate lean-to roof. Both the ground and first floors have one sash window each, complete with glazing bars. There is a lean-to extension at the left end, which has a parapet and a ledged door.

No. 77, which is paired with No. 75, is also two storeys tall and features a part-glazed door, with one sash window on each floor, both having glazing bars.

No. 79 is a separate building from No. 77 and has two storeys plus an attic. It includes a part-glazed door, evidence of a blocked opening, and one sash window on each of the ground and first floors, along with brick quoins. The attic features a pent-roofed dormer with casements.

No. 81, located in the projecting wing, is also two storeys high and has a part-glazed door, with 20th-century casement windows on both the ground and first floors. The terrace is complemented by a stone front boundary wall and is included for its group value.
