Description

The cottages at 67, 68, and 69 West Street, Fontwell Magna, are a group of three buildings dating from the 18th century. They have walls constructed of rubble, with some rebuilding using brick, and ashlar dressings. The roofs are thatched, with brick stacks situated along the ridge. Number 67 presents a symmetrical, three-bay façade. The cottages are two storeys high, with an overall eight-window range. Most windows are 3-light casement windows with leaded lights set within timber frames. Number 67 features a panelled and part-glazed door, while numbers 68 and 69 have 20th-century plank doors. A 20th-century extension is present on the left side. Internal features documented by the Royal Commission on Historical Monuments (RCHM) include stop-chamfered spine beams with run-out stops and plank and muntin partitions.
