Description

No. 83 is a detached cottage, likely dating from the 17th century. It features rubble stone walls and a stone slate roof, with one brick chimney at the end. The building stands two storeys tall and has a 20th-century single-storey flat-roofed extension on the south side that contains the entrance. The original house has one 20th-century metal window on the ground floor and two on the first floor. The main ground floor room includes a large open fireplace with a cambered stop-chamfered timber lintel and a deep chamfered ceiling beam. This property is included for its group value and notable interior features, and it is managed by the National Trust.
