Description

Dowerfield House is a mid-19th century house set in its own grounds. It features rubble-stone walls that are stuccoed and has a hipped slate roof. The house is designed in an L-shape and has two storeys. The south range has three windows, which are sashes with glazing-bars and have rendered architraves with eared details. The windows also have stone cills and consoles. There is a central doorway that has been converted into a 20th-century French window with two leaves and glazing-bars, topped by a fanlight with radiating glazing-bars. A round-headed front door, which is from the 19th century and has recessed panels, has been re-used on the west side wall. A 20th-century portico is also present.
