Description
The Premises of Candy's is an 18th-century shop located in Sturminster Newton. The building is rendered with a tiled roof featuring a gable end. It stands two storeys high and has a five-window range. On the ground floor, there are two bow shop windows with glazing bars on either side of the entrance door. To the left of the door is a three-light sash window set in a moulded surround. The upper floor contains four sash windows with glazing bars in moulded frames. Between the two right-hand windows, there is a blank space that may have once held a fifth window. Centrally located is an obliterated plaque, which is said to have the inscription "R.B, 1730".
