Description

The tombchest of John Borrough is located 10 metres to the east of the southeast corner of the south aisle of the Church of St Brueredus in St Breward. It dates from 1696 and commemorates John Borrough of Penquite, who died that year, along with his wife Beatrice and their son John, who died in 1712. The tombchest is made of granite rubble and features a slate rectangular lid. It has a marginal inscription with a verse in the central panel, using both upper and lower case italic lettering.
