Description
Pendavy Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the early to mid 17th century, with extensions added in the late 19th to early 20th century. It is constructed of granite rubble and has a rendered front range. The roof is covered with rag slate and features gable ends, with a parallel range at the rear that also has gable ends. The building has large stone rubble end stacks, with the right-hand stack projecting, and a projecting end stack on the left-hand gable end of the rear range.
The layout consists of a two-room and through passage plan, heated by end stacks. The ground slopes gently to the left, with the hall and kitchen located on the higher side to the right. In the late 19th or early 20th century, an additional two-room range was added to the rear, which is also heated by end stacks and likely served as service rooms.
The farmhouse is two storeys high and features an almost symmetrical three-window front. There is an early 20th-century porch near the centre, which is glazed and sits on a brick base. The windows on both the ground and first floors are four-pane sashes from the late 19th or early 20th century. A straight joint in the front wall near the left-hand gable end may indicate an earlier blocked opening. The rear elevation has a range from the late 19th or early 20th century with horned sashes. The interior is not accessible.
