Description

The churchyard cross located to the south of the Church of St Brueredus in St Breward is a medieval structure. The cross head has been restored and is mounted on a late 19th-century shaft, which was relocated to its current position in 1890. The cross is made of granite and features a wheelhead design in the shape of a Maltese cross, which is superimposed over a circle, with the angles forming four pierced trefoils. The shaft is a tapered monolith made of granite and is rectangular in section. The cross head was originally removed from a low wall near the school before being placed in the churchyard.
