Description

The Breether monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard, approximately 1 metre east of the Bradly family monument and south of the Church of St. John. It dates from 1691 and is made of limestone. The tomb features lyre ends and a small central circular cartouche. The sides have a central recessed inscription panel surrounded by a chamfered border, with additional panels displaying an incised floral pattern. The top and base are cyma moulded. The south side is inscribed in memory of John Breether, who died in 1691.
