Description
The Noards is a detached house dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of roughly squared rubble stone with a brick chimney stack and a tiled roof, featuring stone slate in diminishing courses on the rear slope. The house is three rooms wide and has two storeys plus an attic.
To the left of the centre, there is a rough rendered gabled porch with a square-headed opening and a timber lintel, leading to a boarded door at the back of the house. On the left side, there is a two-light casement window with an iron opening light, topped by a cambered brick-on-edge arch. A similar window is located to the right of the porch, beyond the boarded door. On the first floor, there is a similar window slightly to the left of the porch ridge, with one window and one door to the right of the porch. A chimney is situated on the left gable, and there is a former single-bay extension on the left that is now in ruins.
Inside, the porch leads into the main room, which features a large fireplace with a rack and a salt cupboard above it. There are two narrow rooms to the right, with a straight-flight stair located at the back of the first floor. The house is positioned on the bank of the River Severn.
