Description

This is a house located on the north side of the A395 at Cold Northcott, dating from the early 18th century. It is constructed of painted stone rubble and cob, topped with a rag slate roof that has a gable end on the right and a hipped end on the left. There is a lean-to outshut at the rear with a corrugated asbestos roof and a rendered brick chimney stack on the left end.

The house has a two-room layout with a cross or through passage plan, featuring an entrance to the right of the center. The larger room on the higher left side is heated by the end stack, while the smaller room on the right appears to be unheated. A circa 19th-century outshut has been added across the rear.

The exterior is two storeys high with an asymmetrical three-window front. The entrance, located to the right of the center, has a 20th-century door and is sheltered by a small 20th-century open-fronted porch. It is flanked by two 20th-century two-light casement windows, with a small window situated between the left window and the door. On the first floor, there is a one-light window to the left, a small 20th-century one-light window above the entrance, and a 19th-century two-light casement to the right. The interior has not been inspected.
